On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian ravaged communities in Southwest Florida, leaving many with uninhabitable homes and not knowing where to turn for help. The following day, Project Outreach volunteers were at work in multiple neighborhoods throughout Naples. As word spread about Project Outreach, the lists of people seeking help grew...and grew...and grew. With Facebook as our "central command post," we enlisted the help of countless volunteers while receiving new requests daily on behalf of victims throughout the region. It became much like a dispatch center, with our founder, Angie, continually aligning community needs with available volunteers.

On a daily basis, Project Outreach volunteers were doing the heavy lifting and cleanup for the elderly, provided resources (i.e. food, clothing, cleaning supplies) for those in need, and shared hope and love with many hurting hearts. It is catastrophes like Hurricane Ian that exemplify the value of Project Outreach in our community. We are an independent, grass roots organization with hearts to serve. Our mission is simple and our volunteers are quick to act: Where God calls us to meet a need, we go.
